What are Talking Therapies ?
Talking therapies have different meaning to all of us, and we all have our personal perception of what would work for us. Talking therapies essentially involve speaking with a trained therapist to explore thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. They help us manage emotional distress, mental health conditions, and life challenges by providing support, guidance, and coping strategies. Not everyone wants deep long term “therapy”.

CV Holistic Therapies offers a range of therapies described on this ‘whole website’ all can be used on their own or combined. Each person is different therefore there is no set answers.

I do not offer long term counselling or psychotherapeutic therapy, rather short-term interventions that can make a difference NOW, and set you up for long term therapy if you choose.

I can work in a brief solutional way (here and now) or more analytical where past events are explored. Both approaches can support moving forward. The choice is yours.

I do not offer emergency mental health interventions, if in crisis you are advised to contact NHS 111 or your local medical provider for emergency support.

The number of sessions is typically 1 to 12 sessions and focus on specific issues, providing practical strategies to cope. Sessions can be weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on your needs.

Sessions are offered 1-1 in person or groups (within my geographical area) either online or in your home.

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT Tapping)
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), often called tapping, is a mind-body-soul therapy that helps release emotional distress and physical discomfort by stimulating specific meridian points on the body through gentle tapping. By tapping on key acupressure points while focusing on a distressing thought or feeling, the nervous system calms down, reducing stress and reprogramming emotional responses. It blends elements of traditional Chinese medicine, acupuncture, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), energy medicine, cognitive, and exposure therapy encouraging rebalancing, promoting emotional healing and energy balance.
